December 2007 - The DC Aveda Institute, designed in partnership with Envision Design has received a Presidential Citation for Sustainable Design from the DC Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The Presidential Citation for Sustainable Design recognizes designs that “create a beautiful project that is compatible with sustainable design.”
October 2007 - Wolfgang Puck’s The Source Restaurant opens at 575 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
May 2007 - MEI recognized as an “MVP” by the National Science Foundation for ongoing contribution to their UPS replacement project, which included an innovative battery plant backup in lieu of a generator.
January 2007 - Alston + Bird team receives Washington Building Congress Lighting Award for 2006.
March 2005 - Gerald M. O’Brien retires after more than 40 years of providing leading mechanical engineering services.
October 2004 - Metropolitan Engineering, Inc. and Shapiro-O’Brien celebrate one year of merger to create a more responsive and capable consulting engineering firm.
