December 2007 - The DC Aveda Institute, designed in partnership with Envision Design has received a Presidential Citation for Sustainable Design from the DC Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The Presidential Citation for Sustainable Design recognizes designs that “create a beautiful project that is compatible with sustainable design.”

May 2007 - MEI recognized as an “MVP” by the National Science Foundation for ongoing contribution to their UPS replacement project, which included an innovative battery plant backup in lieu of a generator.

January 2007 - Alston + Bird team receives Washington Building Congress Lighting Award for 2006.

December 2006 - V.Sychlovy and S.Alvarez chosen as recipients of the 2006 “Seeing the Big Picture” and “Doing Whatever It Takes” awards at the annual Holiday Party. This year’s party was held in the Rotunda Room of the Ronald Reagan Building. Check out the view from here....

October 2006 - M.Skovajsa hired as MEP Project Manager.

December 2005 - Metropolitan Engineering, Inc. awards two employees exemplary performance awards. P. Sy earns the “Seeing the Big Picture” award and L. Williamson earns the “Doing Whatever It Takes” award for 2005.

October 2005 - Metropolitan Engineering, Inc. and Shapiro-O’Brien celebrate two years of symbiotic merger. March 2005 - Gerald M. O’Brien retires after more than 40 years of providing leading mechanical engineering services.

October 2004 - Metropolitan Engineering, Inc. and Shapiro-O’Brien celebrate one year of merger to create a more responsive and capable consulting engineering firm.
